About thegreenguy
What is thegreenguy?
A UK blog devoted to green and ethical things that you can do and buy without changing your entire life - 'ethical stuff that anyone can do'.
What does it cover?
A vast range of brilliant planet and people-friendly stuff you can buy, visit and take part in, plus Your Ethical Tips, a bank of advice from you, the manufactuers and shops behind the new ethical consumerism. The time when eco, Fairtrade and organic meant unfashionable, expensive and under-performing is long over.
Who's behind it?
I'm Adam Vaughan, editor of SmartPlanet.
Previously I founded the ethical consumer blog Hippyshopper in early 2005 with Shiny Media, launched and edited Newconsumer.com, edited Stuff.tv (where I moonlighted for a while on their video podcasts) and worked in various senior roles on Stuff and T3 magazine.
Right now, I write freelance articles about green and ethical consumer issues for The Independent, The Guardian, Inside Out magazine, The Mail on Sunday, Spiked and more. I also previously edited Friends of the Earth's Living pages.
