The Co-Op Bank launched ecoinsurance for your motor over the weekend. Its green credentials include pledging to offset some of your emissions, giving you a discount if you've got a high mileage car and providing you with access to its repair network, which gets paid extra to recycle used materials. Its handsome site also has a CO2 calculator to see how much pollution your car's pumping out, plus some very basic green driving tips. Match with eco-friendlier breakdown assistance from the ETA for full greenie points.
I am completely confused by how they, or anyone, works out how to offset my carbon immisions using trees. This company reckons I need to plant 419 pine trees a year to offset my MGF, yet carbonneutral.com reckon I need only plant 2 trees! Yes TWO!
So who is right green guy> Maybe you should investigate this for us? :-)

Hi Simon, haven't forgotten about this - am currently trying to do a round-up of all the major carbon calculators on the web and discover how they do their maths. It's something I've wondered before too! Adam
